Agnes was born about 1714, daughter of John CAMPBELL of Whitehaugh and Catherine FERGUSON, daughter of Auchinblain (latter day saints, „Genealogical account of the principal families of Ayrshire“ by George Robertson,1824). Alexander married (2) Elizabeth WILSON (b. 22oct1724, latter day saints), daughter of Joseph WILSON of Barmuir, Provost of Ayr, and Isabel MUIR (IGI), daughter of Muir of Blairstoun („Genealogical account of the principal families of Ayrshire“ by George Robertson,1824) by whom daughter Jane. Alexander married (3) Jean CUNINGHAME, daughter of Alexander CUNINGHAME of Polquhairn or Polquharne („Genealogical account of the principal families of Ayrshire“ by George Robertson,1824). According to “A directory of Landownership in Scotland c. 1770” Alexander Farquhar of Gilmillscroft owned land at Mauchline worth 504 pounds, 9 shillings and 4 pence.
