Robert FARQUHAR married Julian NESBET. (Paterson’s Ayrshire families) Robert Farquhar of Gilmillscroft, formerly of Lightshaw, was engaged in the broils of the period but contrived to get better out of them, by prudent management, than others. He married Julian, daughter of Nisbet of Greenholm (History of the county of Ayr by J. Paterson, 1852).

James FARQUHAR of Gilmillscroft (b. 1670 Blyth, Aberdeenshire, d. 10sep1728, latter day saints) married 1700/1701 at West Kilbride, Ayrshire (IGI) Jean PORTERFIELD, daughter of William PORTERFIELD of Duchal and of that Ilk, by Annabell, daughter of STUART of Blackhall („Genealogical account of the principal families of Ayrshire“ by George Robertson,1824) (Paterson’s Ayrshire families). Jean was daughter of William PORTERFIELD and Annabella STEWARD (IGI). James succeeded his father in 1698 (Paterson’s Ayrshire families). James had among others the following child:
