Facts and Events
Albert, a tall, handsome, hardworking carpenter and farmer; left school age 12 to help support mother; after mother's death accompanied brother Frank and a cousin working way to Washington state to work on railroad being built; returned to KS, married and lived in and near Howard except 3 years in Goodwell, OK and 1 year in Pratt, KS.

Andrews
Albert Andrews, son of Emmeline Rudy and Amos Andrews, was born April 9, 1873 in the Halfway House between Salem and Odem, Ill. and died at his home in Howard, Ks. Tues, Feb 1, 1949, at the age of 75 years, 9 months and 23 days.
He came to Elk County, KS in 1877 with his parents, his sister, Alta, (Mrs. Sant Anderson) and his brothers, Frank and Alpha, all having preceded him in death. Albert grew to manhood on a farm near Howard.
He was married to Edith Collins on March 14, 1901, and with the exception of a few years spent in western Ks., Oklahoma and Washington maintained a home in or near Howard all his life where he engaged in carpentry and farming. He had been a member of the Methodist Church of 30 years.
Besides his widow Mr. Andrews leaves his children: Emaline Leonard, Beulah Shepherd, and Bernadine Weyrauch of Howard, Iva Jane Jordan of Artesia, N.M., Richard Andrews, Sonoma, Calif., Eunice Rhodes, Hutchinson, Ks. Clarice Andrews, Washington D.C., Mary Ellen Snodderly, Harper, Ks. Albert M. Andrews, Okmulgee, Oklahoma & their families and numerous other relatives.
Funeral services were held from the Moon Funeral Home, Thur. afternoon, Feb. 3rd at 2:00 p.m. Rev. P. L. Mitchell in charge. The music was furnished by Mrs. John Sauson and Mrs. Andrew Thompson with Mrs. P. L. Mitchell accompanist. The pall bearers were Evert Stone, Milo Munsinger, Fred Berry, George Ellis, Frank Stewart, and Wilbur Ingle. Burial was in Grace Lawn Cemetery, Howard.
Cause of death was a stroke.
