Agnes worked at Mt. Sinai Hospital for a couple of years after receiving her Diploma of Nursing. However she quit, then returned to Cassadaga when her mother was sick. Her mother died in 1931.

She dated Robert Dorman after her return to Cassadaga and married him in 1933.
