Children
Robert, "Bob", stayed home to run the farm along with his mother and younger siblings after his father died in 1930. His mother, Aura, later moved off the farm when she married Emmett Campbell. Bob married Agnes Richardson in 1933. They made the Dorman farm their home for the remainder of their years. They raised their own children in addition to providing a home for Joyce Richardson, Agnes's younger sister, after their mother died, and for Bob's brother, Emmett Dorman, after his mother remarried.
Bob and Agnes farmed with horses in the early days together. They always had a few cows and chickens for milk, eggs and meat. They were caring stewards to their woods, carefully culling the weaker trees for their firewood. They had a large garden and fruit trees that provided vegetables and fruit for canning.
