Also living with her were: Maria Gonzales (From Coamo, and possibly a cousin), and her three children Antonia, Manuel, and Rita. She is already a widow at age 32, with three small children, in 1897. The census says that she had lived in Ponce for 27 years, which means that she moved to Ponce when she was 5 years old. The two older children, Antonia and Manuel, have the surname Diaz, but Rita, 10 months old, has the surname Ortiz. Eulogio Ortiz could possibly be Agapita's brother, but it is not known for sure.

The census indicates that Agapita had born 11 children, of which 4 were living with her at the time of the census. The children living with her are Antonio, Manuel, Jessica, and Isabel. Agapita's surname is Ortiz y Quiles on the census.

!RESIDENCE: Agapita went to live in her uncle Avelino's home (after his death) on Calle Capitan Correa in Ponce, Puerto Rico, and was living there at the time Rita M. Renta was married to Erasmo Bernier. Francica Diaz, Agapita's daughter, was living there also at the time of Rita's marriage.
