He married MARIA VLIET74 May 01, 1713 in Flatbush, Long Island, NY75, daughter of JOHN VLIET and GEERTIE VERKERK.

Adriaen and his wife must have died after 1740 as they were witnesses to the baptism of their grandchild Maria Hegeman in Bucks Co. PA in April 1740. PA Vital Records CD 172, p.244. Nettie Weaver lists birthdate as 4 Mar 1686. Baptisms of 1686... 14 March Henricus Hegeman and Ariaentie Boedtgoedt; Adriaen ; witnessed by Joost Hegeman, Jacobus Hegeman and Femmetie Rems. He was married to Marytje Vandervliet on 1 May 1713 at Flatbush, Kings, NY. Nettie Weaver lists death date as 8 Aug 1754. New Jersey Archives Vol. XXXIII, p. 169. Adrian of Somerset, NJ. Wife, Mary. May have had a 10th child Adrian(source, Nettie Weaver), but I suspect this Adrian is really his son-in-law. Children listed in "Early Settlers of Kings County, NY" Will probated 5-1-1755, pg. 135 He was buried about 300 yards west of his dwelling, along the line between his and the old Stryker property, where his wife Mary and others of the family were also buried. Old Dutch farmers were often buried on their property and not usually in the church yard.

Notes for MARIA VLIET: Her baptismal name is Marytje Vandervliet. Called Maria in Snell's History of Somerset County. GRS CD 102, ref. 714E Maria's father, John Vleet, owned land to the north of Adrian. There is now a Vliet Road in Franklin Park, Somerset County. These Dutch people were probably quite religious and clearly married within the Church. So many of them intermarried in this area that there was a road called "Cousin's Lane" that went between the Somerset communities. The name is preserved, as a large road in Franklin Park is now called "Cozzins Lane", the origin of which I am sure many residents have forgotten.
