Mrs. Addie Tinker Funeral Tuesday

STRAWBERRY POINT (Special) -- Tuesday funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Addie Carpenter Tinker, 70, who died Sunday morning at a Manchester hospital.

The Rev. Wayne Carlson will officiate at the 2 pm rites at the Methodist church. Burial will be in the Strawberry Point cemetery.

Mrs. Tinker is survived by her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Carpenter, 97, Manchester; three sons, Don, Strawberry Point, Dr. Delos, Postville, and Darwin, Cedar Rapids. Also several grandchildren.

Her husband, John W. Tinker, a rural mail carrier here for 30 years, her father, four brothers and an infant sister preceded her in death.

Mrs. Addie Carpenter Tinker

Funeral services for Mrs. Addie Carpenter Tinker, 70, who died at Delaware County Memorial Hospital Sunday morning Aug. 5, at 1:00 a.m. were held on Tuesday at the Methodist church, with the Rev. Wayne L. Carlson officiating.

Born July 22, 1886, in Clayton county, she was the daughter of Alex and Elizabeth (Mitchell) Carpenter. On Feb, 26, 1907, she was married to John Tinker at West Union. They lived in the Strawberry Point vicinity and Mr. Tinker served as a rural mail carrier out of Strawberry Point for 30 years prior to his retirement. She was a member of the Methodist church and the Royal Neighbors of America and her interest in life was her family.

Burial was at the Strawberry Point cemetery, with the Gill Funeral service making the arrangements.
