Adam Fuchs Holtzl.nder (Holzlander, Holtslander) born Waterford Twp. N.J. Oct. 21, 1750, baptized St. Michael's and Zion Lutheran Church, Philadelphia Pa. April 7, 1751, sponsors: Adam Fuchs and Elisabeth Sofferens soldier, American Revolution., res. Town of Groveland, Livingston Co., N.Y. 1833 married before 1776 Maria (?) Boyd, widow of Thomas Boyd.

b. Waterford Twp, N.J. Oct 21, 1750; bp. St Michael's and Zion Lutheran Church, Philadelphia, Pa. April 7, 1751 sponsors Adam Fuchs and Elizabeth Sofferens. Soldier.. American Revolution.. papers relating to the Revolutionary War Service of Adam Fuchs Holtzlander are contained in the Pension Application file # L 5564, National Archives, Washington, D.C. In his pension application Adam F. stated that he was born in the town of Waterford, N.J. Oct. 21, 1750 and that he had a prayer book in his possession in which his date of birth was inscribed by his father. He was living in Shamokin. Pa., Columbia Co. in June 1778 when he was called into the service for an emergency tour of duty of one month, guarding the frontier, under Lt. Benjamin Hillman. He then returned home, but soon afterward the region was invaded by the enemy under Brandt and Butler and the settlers were forced to flee. Adam F. then removed to the town of Warwick, Orange Co., N.Y. where he soon went into service again for one month, this time as a substitute for Thomas Bennett, serving in the town of Minisink under the command of Capt. Calvin Shephard. he then settled in the town of Walkill, which was then in Ulster Co., but was later set apart to Orange Co., N.Y. On April 1, 1782 he enlisted for nine months in an infantry company commanded by Captain Andrew White, in a regiment which was under the command of Colonel Frederick Weissenfels. Listed in the 1790 Census as living in Warwick, Orange Co., N.Y. he then removed before 1800 to Groveland, Livingston Co., N.Y. where he was living when he was granted a pension in 1833.
