The Ancestor of the this family [Parker] was Abraham, who is supposed to have come from Wiltshire, Eng. He first settled in Woburn, where he married Rose Whitlock, 1644; was admitted freeman in 1645; and rem. to Chelmsford, probably upon its incorporation in 1653, with his brothers, Jacob, James and Joseph. His homestead of 24 acres was set off to him in 1662 and was near the middle of Chelmsford.

"Of the date and locality of his birth there is no known evidence, but it is presumed that he came from Wiltshire in England." He m. Woburn 18 Nov 1644 Rose Whitlock, freeman 1645, removed to Chelmsford probably 1653 with brothers Jacob, James and Joseph, a fifth brother John settling at Andover. He d. Chelmsford 12 Aug 1685, will dated 6 Aug 1685, proved three years later [sic].

Baptism for Abraham Parker found in Great Burstead, Essex, England 6 Feb 1618/19, son of John Parker. In 1672, Sarah Parker, the daughter of Jacob Parker, chose her uncle Abraham Parker as guardian. Will dated Aug 1685, names wife Rose; sons John, Abraham, Moses and Isaac; daughters Mary wife of James Parker, Elizabeth Parker and Lydia wife of John Kidder.
