  3.   In a note in NEHGR, p. 47:363, Samuel Abbott Green (author of History of Groton) explains that Savage, p. 3:353, lists two Joseph Parkers, one of Chelmsford, and one of Dunstable, that are the same person. This appears to be accurate. But then Green errs in mentioning that Joseph m. (2) 1655 to a Rebecca Read. Unfortunately, Source:Bailey, Frederic W. Early Massachusetts Marriages Prior to 1800, p. 33, shows this marriage too. However, if one inspects the actual marriage in Chelmsford VRs, it says "Joseph Parkis", which is a common spelling of Parkhurst, and refers to Family:Joseph Parkhurst and Rebecca Reade (1). Margaret is listed as the mother in births of Joseph's children even after 1655.
