The following is based on transcriptons of individual tax lists for various years, in various Old Chester townships, as available on the Chester County WebSite. [Need Link] This list represents the taxpayers living in Chester County in 1730. This year was selected because it has a reasonably complete set of surviving tax records for each township. Only the township of Pikeland is missing form these extractions. Another reason for selecting 1730 as the target year is that one of the interests being met here is identifying the families in the area prior to their immigration into Old Augusta in Virignia, and points further south. Thus, if there are ancestors of interest in these later areas, who are thought to have come from Old Chester, There's a chance that you'll find them on this list.
