We know there there was still many more between Dublin Kerry Limerick such as the other 2 George Teters in limerick with adams jacobs . TYTER name is very rare and usual to County Kerry. Some nice people on the Kerry rootsweb were kind enough to find out some information on the TYTER name for me. They told me that TYTER is a Palantine name found in Co. Kerry. The TYTER's were French Huguenots who came from the Palantine area of Germany. They left Palantine, Germany went to Holland, London and Ireland in search of religious freedom. Later on these families went to Canada. They made settlements in the Limerick City and Kerry areas. The TYTER's were orginally named DETLOR/TETTLER, but when they came to Ireland the name was changed to TYTER.--Parris 21:17, 17 October 2008 (EDT) Families of County Kerry, Ireland: Over Three Thousand Entries ... - Google Books Result by Michael C. He left a son there named George Teter.--Parris 20:00, 19 October 2008 (EDT) [edit] John TetlorJohn Tetlor, was a French Huguenot whos family fled France into Germany with other Teters where they lived in Nassau. He appeared in London 1663 then went to Ireland. He left many family especally men named George. These people were well integrated into Irish society by 1712. They lived between Dublin Kerry Limerick. Some of them adapted the spelling of Teytor Tyter Tytor. By 1709 a extened family John Jacob Detlor also french who lived and was born in Nassau arrived in Limerick with several thousand Germans with the assistance of Queen Ann, Many started out working on a Irish Lords plantation. Everntually they all became Methodists. By 1729 1730 several ships had gone to SC from Ireland and English Ports. These brothers Samuel Jacob Benjamin William Joseph George or 1st cousins moved all around. Recorded as Tedder Teeter Teator Teeder Tettor Tettler Tutterow Tetor, appear to be from the Teytor Tyter Tetler group which all three still lived between Limerick and Kerry. by 1740 thier cousins began arriving in PA such as the Smeltzers others pure Irish like the Burks moving down to the Scotch Irish area of Augusta were another Colony of mainly people from Southern Ireland appeared on the Crab Creek Tract.. The George Teater of Crab Creek who was Natnaiel Gists Sgt in the Cherokee expedition shows to have lived with his father in law George Parris for a few years until 1763, then went to Georgia or NC. He was recorded in Georgia 1765. He then appeared same time Paul Smelter was dealing with Frederick Starns on the Crab Creek Tract.. The extended family all seemed to have Stationed in Rowan Co during the 1755 to 1761 Timeline. It appears Capt Daniel Teater Tettler went his way the sons of George Tedder went to Dobbs NC, Benjamin may have been in Georgia outback Indian trader out of site. William moved with the Jeter Clan all over between SC Georgia to Greensville VA. George Teater who married Sarah Pearis Parris daughter of George Parris and unknown Squaw appears more as the son of Samuel who disapeared as the Clerk of Edgcombe after 1753.. He appears to have left Rowan Co with hs in law Daniel Boone to Braddocks defeat and stayed on until he transfrered to Nataniel Gists Co. He moved from Crab Creek to Bakers Creek in which became Washington Co 1770. During that time he was the Sgt of William Edmiston In the Lord Dunmore war other miltary engagements. He left to Clarks Station 1779 KY where he was Shot by Indians. Recovered and had a cabin on the Dicks river with a William Gains 1784 , Then found with 4 negro slaves in madison 1787. Then joined by his family and other Tedders from NC like George Tedder SR of Dobbs NC. Had 3 wives Sarah Pearis Esther Griffith and 3rd Ester widow of Benjamin Totten Sr. Died 1815 Garrard KY. It seems more strong George Teater was born 1736 in Edgecombe or bladen area. 2nd possibilty was born in Ireland.. He was named by Gov David Campbell as being Scotch Irish and named in the History of Ft Wayne Indiana as Scotch Irish, Its more likly he was part French part Scotch but family was originated in Ireland which gave him the Irish Element,, This George Teater shows no records with any German Teters. There is not one document in the world that shows his name was ever John that was another person.--Parris 21:03, 19 October 2008 (EDT) TO answer the Black Dutch Black German question. John Telor 1st as posted was not a German he was French Huguenot. He settled in Nassau.. By 1660 he was in London. The recdords of John Deltor he was born in Nassau. He came with the Germans to Limerick. These are a 2 generation gap of the 1st Tetlors that came from France. The 2nd John Tetlor came 1709. The 1st John Tetlor arrived 1660s, Evident as posted by the 3 George Tettlers already living in Ireland 3 generations before the 2nd John Tetlor arrived,. look at file by the genalogies of limerick posted. it spells out who the 2nd John Tettlors family were. Note there were 5 other Teetlers on the 1747 to 1760 Dublin returns besided John Tetlor the 2nd one. This means 5 Tettlers arrived way before the 2nd John Telor who came 1709.. This may have given George Teater a 1/4 amount of Black German blood due to the gap between the 1660 timeline of John Tetlor 1st who is George Teaters line . He was not from the 2nd John Tetlor 1709 Therfore the 3 George Tettlers listed with the 2nd john Teltlor had to have come from the 1st line John Telor arrived 1660.. Study mike Nassau paper and other on the Black Germans. The Teltors came from France but lived in a Black German area for 3 to 4 generations.. I disagree George Teater settled in any German area. The Germans were at the North Fork more than a 150 miles from the middle fork of the Holston which was 99% Scotch Irish., 2nd the tiny handfull of German surnames at Crab Creek are now showing to the the Limerick settlers who came from Nassau between 1690 and 1709.. George Teater and Sarah lived there only 2 years then moved on to the major part of almost all Scotch Irish 3 yrs before the Germans started moving into the North fork area, These people were from Bucks PA. with short stop in the Shannandoah.. Its been posted already all of George Teaters inlaws had J2 G E1b DNA types North Africa. Its been posted already the paper by Robert Evans the Teaters and their inlaws were a Social Identifiable group of Dark Skinned people some noted as part Indians some were called Melungeons , but no evidence of intermarrying with Negros as the the TN Melungeons had .. Its not conclusive only presumed the French could have mingled witht the Black Germans between 1640 to 1709 when they arrived in Limerick and Kerry. The Kerry group used Teytor Tyter ect.. The 1st Tetlors Teytors of Kerry were very well settled and mixed with the Scotch Welsh. that is noted below by the records of DR George Teater Tettler 1719 in Dublin. I have posted 2 websites that show photgraphic evidence of Samuel Teaters children and Parris Teaters family. These photos conccur with Robert Evans paper. These people look nowhere near to white. They are Black Haired and Dark skinned. Most have very strong Native Indian featues.. Its a fact Paul Smeltzer and 2 George Teaters Tyters Tetlors ect are noted on the Limerick Dublin returns betwenn 1747 and 1760. George Teater and Paul Smetlzer are both living together on the South Irish Colony of Crab Creek and both are connected to Frederick Starn who apprears to have been Stork or Starnks back in Ireland, not sure more study.. By what records found so far George Teaters farthest line on his male side were French Huguenots that lived with the Black Germans. His line seems to be more Irish though.. Samuel Teater Tedder the Clerk of Edgcombe and his brotheer Jacob were clerks of a Brittish Style court in Edgcombe., By this time all vestigaes of thier Great Grandfather John Tetlor 1660 a Frenchman who lived with the Black Germans before coming to Ireland were long gone.. By this time they were already intermixed with the Scotch Welsh who were also brought in the same time to Ireland and who worked on the same Estates By the time Samuel Teater Jacob Teater Joesph Teater William Teater Benjamin Teater Tedder ect arrived they were 3rd generation Irish from a John Tetlor 1st. The word Melungeon is not common in Kentucky the same people where known as just Brown People many where related to the TN Melungeons. one example of one family strongly intermixed with the Teaters was the William BowLing the John Collins the Mereday Collins the David Collins family from Floyd ky - Russell VA . The term Melungeon is not distinct to Kentucky more to TN and North Carolina. George Teater by where his G Granfathers presumed as John Tetlor 1660 may have have aquired some Black German blood due the area where they lived and the German people they associated with in Ireland and Germany the Tetlors were French. our George Teater had only records with one other Teater family. That was the George Tedder amd his brother Thomas Tettor in Dobbs NC. They were sons of George Teater Teeder of Edgcombe and Rowan Co NC.--Parris 13:04, 20 October 2008 (EDT) The documents of limerick history Kerry history show John Jacob Tetlor came 1709. There many more Tetlors Teytors such 4 George Teytors Tettlers who arrived much earlier and were 2nd generation between Dublin example such DR George Tettler 1712.. Note the history of the Nassau arrivals they are both French and Ethnic German. Note the Teaters Tetlors Teytors were the French branch but residents of Nassau Germany for 3to4 - Generations before coming to Ireland 1660 1st group of Teater 1709 2nd group of teater tettler ect.. note irish history has it that the french and germans did intermix before arrival in ireland. the 1st group were already mixed with others scotch welsh rish ect.. if george teater has black german blood it would have been from a great mother. it may explain why the family of George Teater was such a Dark skinned people, dark haired people outside their marriages to Melungeons Indians ect, Phtographic evidence shows most 2nd and 3rd generation Teater were dark people. more like indian featured but also European face with Dark Skin Jet Black Hair.. read the history.
