Pulaski Democrat, 10 Dec 1964: JANICE IRENE MONTIETH TO WED WM. H. WOOD Everett Monteith of Orwell announces the engagement of his daughter, Janice Irene, to William H. Wood of Mexico, son of Tessie Scofield of Ellisburg and Thomas Wood of Mexico R. D. 1. The bride-elect attended Sandy Creek Central School and he attended Mexico Central School. He is employed at the Marsellus Vault Company in Mexico. No date has been set for the wedding. Pulaski Democrat, 6 May 1965: WOOD--MONTEITH VOWS SPOKEN A very pretty wedding took place Saturday evening, May 1, at the Vorea Community Church when Miss Janice I. Monteith, daughter of Everett Monteith and the late Mrs. Monteith became the bride of William H. Wood, son of Mrs. Tessie Scofield of Ellisburg and Thomas Wood of Mexico. The Rev. Grant Barrett, pastor, officiated at the ceremony and Mrs. Barrett played the traditional wedding music. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a bouffant white lace dress... Mrs. Clark Newton of Taberg was matron of honor for her sister. She wore a blue silk dress ... The mother of the groom wore a blue- lace dress... Lester H. Wood of Mexico was best man for his brother. A reception for some 55 guests was held at the Orwell Town Hall following the ceremony where Mrs. George Monteith and Carol and Bertha Babcock acted as hostesses. The wedding cake was made and cut by Mrs. Hildreth Babcock of Redfield, sister of the bride. The wedding book was attended by Miss Alice Mary Babcock. After a wedding trip the new Mr. and Mrs. Wood will live on the Scenic highway in Mexico. References
