In 1870, James McConagha, age 20, was living with this family as a farm laborer, according to the Census. Also a domestic servant named Agnes J. (Featherber?) age 14 was living there. Both were born in Ohio. Cynthia's father, Barnett Vandervort, age 93, born in New York was also living with them.

The Cemetery Inscription books gives the following: Moore - Shaw, Margaret Feb 17, 1844 - 12 Feb 1913 Joel, Co. C., 88th OVI, Civil War Oct 25, 1830 - Nov 9, 1905

Could Joel have been Theodore's brother? They're buried in the same section of Glendale Cemetery as Hattie Shaw MOORE.

  2. found in the marriage books from the Muskingum County Genealogy Society, via email from Craig Derby. This was the only reference he found of a Theodore Moore marrying a Cynthia between the dates 1835 - 1873. He didn't find any other Theodore Moore.
