Sylvester Lamm was born in Germany, probably Bavaria, in September 1862. By 1886, he had married Caroline [Rosenblatt?].N2 They had two children in Germany, Henry and Sophia. Sylvester emigrated to the United States in 1888. Caroline followed with the two children in 1889. They arrived in New York on the EMS on 22 April. She is identified as Bavarian. In 1900, they were living at 178 Noll St, Brooklyn, NY. Sylvester was a "stair builder" and he was naturalized. In 1910 they were living at 1503 DeKalb Avenue.

  2.   In the 1900 census, Sylvester's mother-in-law's name is given as "Tillie Rosenblatt." In 1910, it is "Marthilda Wagner." In both instances she is listed as a widow. Had she come over as a widow, remarried, and lost her second husband by 1910?
