The Westbrooks lived at 1054 Asylum Avenue, Hartford, in the home built by William Lyman Collins, her maternal grandfather. The house was on "the block," a city block that contained the homes of many of the children and grandchildren of William L. Collins, including most of the children of Samuel G. Dunham. Nearly the whole block was sold to the National Fire Insurance Company in 1939 for its home office. The property now is occupied by an extension of the St. Francis Hospital. After the family sold the property, they lived at 100 Scarborough Street, Hartford. They were members of the Asylum Hill Congregational Church.
