1. SAMUEL1 SMITH was born Bef. 1760. He married MARY SMITH abt. 1780 in Prob. Virginia, daughter of EDWARD SMITH and AGNES STONECIPHER. She was born Bet. 1760 - 1763 in prob. Culpepper County, Virginia, and died Bef. 1807.

Notes for GEORGE SMITH: Will of George Smith, Carter County, Tennessee, page 114:

In the name of God, Amen, I George Smith of Carter County Tennessee being of sound mind and memory, but weak in body do make and ordain and fully confirm this my last Will and Testament. It is my will that James Davidson Smith have one hundred acres of land off of the east end of the farm on which I live to commence on the river near his house so as to include his dwelling house on his own land. I also agreeable to previous argument give to him thirty feet square on my barn after if is shedded or one of the hog pens with the attached sheds the balance of the foresaid farm it is my will shall be equally divided between my daughters (towit) Anna Smith, Hoss, Celia formerly Celia Smith, Sarah Smith, Elizabeth Smith, Fanny Smith the first part next to by the river on which the dwelling house stands shall be given to Elizabeth giving her an equal proportion of acres of land and she is to pay the sum of fifty dollars to the other heirs jointly, the giving of the house to said Elizabeth in provided she should survive me and my wife Mary Smith who is to hold it so long as she lives after my death or the death of my wife all my personal property money if any debts so shall be divided equally between my children James Davison and John Smith excepted in Testimony where of I have here unto set my hand acknowleding the foregoing to be correct and true will and Testament not allowing advantage to be taken of any in formality in the same of 1st, day of May 1859 intestermand before signed and acknowledged in the presence of:
