Marriage Bonds 1813 - 1819, number 924 Know all men by these presents that we Robert Madison & Alexander Fitzhugh are held and firmly bound unto the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the sum of fifty pounds current money and for payment well and truly to be made & done to the sd Commonwealth we bond ourselves and every of our heirs Exers & admrs jointly & Severally firmly by these presents Sealed with our Seals and Dated this 14th day of March 1814 The Condition of the above obligation is such that whereas a Marriage is shortly intened to be Soliminized between the above bound Robert Madison & Rachel Haden Now should there be no lawful cause to obstruct said Marriage then the above obligation to be void else to remain in force
