"Maurice N. Gerardot and Ella Ryan"'s marriage license appeared in the Fort Wayne News on Saturday, April 18, 1903, on page 1.

Ella's obituary reads, "Mrs. Ellen C. Gerardot, aged 56, died of apoplexy today at her home in Madison Township, five and one-half miles northwest of Monroeville, after an illness of eight days. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church at Besancon and the Rosary Society of the church. Surviving are the husband, Maurice Gerardot; four sons, Andrew, Noulan and Merlin, all at home, and Leonard, of this city; a daughter, Mrs. Amuel Barclay, of Madison Township; two grandchildren; two brothers, Patrick and Joseph Ryan, both of Jefferson Township; and a sister, Mrs. Balser Ort, of this city. Funeral Services will be held Monday at 9:30 am at the residence, and at 10 am at St. Louis Church by the Revs. Michael Shay, Thomas Quinlin and Joseph Hession officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. The body will be taken to the residence Friday afternoon from the Harper Funeral Home in New Haven." [Fort Wayne News-Sentinel, Thursday 5 December 1935, pg. 28]

"Morris"' obituary reads, "Morris N. Girardot, 83, of R. R. #2, Monroeville, a retired farmer and a native of Jefferson Township, died Saturday afternoon shortly after being admitted to St. Joseph's Hospital. He had been in poor health the last 18 months. He was a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church, Besancon; the Holy Name Society and the St. Vincent DePaul Society. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Lilliam Barclay, R. R. #2, Monroeville; four sons, Leonard J., Nolan and Merlin, all of Fort Wayne, and Andrew, Yoder; three brothers, Joseph L. and Sherman, Fort Wayne, and Henry E., New Haven; a sister, Mrs. Rose Ryan, Fort Wayne; 24 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Friends may call at the Marquardt Funeral Home, Monroeville, after 7:30 p.m. today. The Rosary will be recited Tuesday at 8pm in the funeral home. Services will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. in the funeral home and at 9:30 in St. Louis Catholic Church, Rev. Andrew Mathieu officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery." They are both buried in the Besancon Cemetery at the St. Louis Catholic Church in New Haven, Indiana.
