Louis and Mary were married by Rev. P. F. Veniard with their baptismal names, "Ludovicum Venderley" and "Maria Stella Gladieux." Their witnesses were Charles Gladieux, George Venderly and Celestin Gladieux. Louis and Mary were living at 246 East Masterson Avenue in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in 1946, 1949 and 1950. Stella's obituary reads, "MRS. STELLA VENDERLEY, 83, 4205 Winter St., died at 3:20 a.m. yesterday in St. Joseph's Hospital. She had been ill for several years and bedfast for the past six weeks. She was born in Jefferson Township and lived in Fort Wayne for 12 years. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. Mrs. Venderley and her husband, Louis J., would have celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary in April. Surviving besides the husband are two daughters, Mrs. Bertha Donovan and Mrs. Carl Meek, Fort Wayne; five sons, Arthur, Floyd, Ralph, Manford and C. G. Venderley, all of Fort Wayne; two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Dager and Mrs. Edward Oberley, Monroeville; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Mungovan & Sons Mortuary after 2 p.m. today. Services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home and at 9 in St. Peter's Catholic Church, the V. Rev. Msgr. John A. Bapst officiating. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery." [Fort Wayne Journal Gazette, Sunday 4 March 1956, pg. 12A] Louis' obituary reads, "RETIRED GROCER, 88, DIES; RITES THURSDAY. Louis J. Venderly, 88, 4205 Winter St., operator of a grocery at Tillman's Corners for 30 years, died at 5:45 p.m. yesterday at Parkview Memorial Hospital where he had been patient since Sept. 2. He was a native of Allen County, and moved to Fort Wayne after retiring from business 13 years ago. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. His wife, Mary Estella, died in March, 1956. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Bertha Donovan and Mrs. Agness Meek, both of this city; five sons, C. G. Venderly, Arthur, Floyd, Ralph and Manford Venderly, all of Fort Wayne; two brothers, Frank E. Venderly of Dallas, Tex. and Adolph Venderly of this city; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The body was taken to Mungovan & Sons Mortuary where services will be conducted at 8:30 a.m. Thursday and at 9 at St. Peter's Church, the V. Rev. Msgr. John A. Bapst officiating. Interment will be in the Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after 7 p.m. today. The St. Vincent de Paul Society will conduct Rosary services following the Holy Hour, Wednesday."
