They were married by Rev. A. Mignault. Their marriage license listed their names as "Lester Gladis" and Mary V. Havre."

Celestin was a farmer and a county commissioner.

Celestin was 69 years old when he died of mitral regurgitation.

Celestin's obituary reads, "Celestin Gladieux, aged sixty-nine years, died suddenly at this farm home near Zulu, Ind., at 12:30 o'clock yesterday morning. His death was due to heart disease. Mr. Gladieux had been a resident of Allen county nearly all his life. He was born in Stark county, O., from whence he came but two years of age. Mr. Gladieux had apparently been in good health and his death came unexpectedly. Surviving he leaves the widow and the following children: Louis J., Mrs. Mary Pappert, F.C. Gladieux, Charles C., Mrs. Louis Venderly, Mrs. Charles Frane, Mrs. Frank Russey, Mrs. Henry Minnich, Miss Lucy Gladieux and Peter Gladieux. One brother, Frank Gladieux, and one sister, Mrs. George Townsend, also survive. Sheriff A.C. Gladieux is a nephew and Mrs. Lawrence Haffner, of this city, is a sister-in-law of the deceased. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 9:30 o'clock at the residence near stop 57 on the Ohio Electric line. Interment will be made at the I.O.O.F. cemetery at New Haven." In 1929, Mary was living at 1209 Anthony Blvd. in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Mary's obituary reads, "Funeral services for Mrs. Mary V. Gladieux, 83, who died early Wednesday morning at St. Joseph's hospital, will be held Saturday morning at 8:30 o'clock at the residence in Zulu, and 9 o'clock at St. Louis' Catholic church at Besancon, Rev. Nicholas Allgeier officiating. Burial will be in New Haven I.O.O.F. cemetery. The body will be taken home this morning form the Ternet & Schlib funeral home in New Haven. Friends are asked to omit flowers. Born at Lafayette, the deceased resided in Allen county most of her life. She was a member of St. Louis' Catholic church and the Rosary society. Survivors include a son, Charles of Zulu; four daughters, Mrs. Nora Dager of Monroeville, Mrs. Stella Vanderley of Tillman, Mrs. Elma Frane of near this city and Mrs. Lucy Oberley of Zulu; two stepsons, Francis C. Gladieux of this city and Louis G. Gladieux of New Haven; 32 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren." [Fort Wayne Journal Gazette, Thursday 25 April 1935, pg. 2]

They are both buried in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in New Haven, Indiana.
