Pocahontas (alias Matoaka) and her descendants, through her marriage at Jamestown, Virginia in April 1614 with John Rolfe, gentleman: including the names of Alfriend, Archer, Bentley, Bernard, Bland, Bolling, Branch, Cabell, Catlett, Cary, Dandridge, Dixon, Douglas, Duval ...     Robertson believes this marriage to an Indian, "Kocuom", is a "mere blundering reading of Strachey". Robertson believes he meant Rolf.

  2.   Patawomeck Indians of Virginia Also, one of Japasaw’s two wives was a sister of Pocahontas, and the first husband of Pocahontas was Kocoum, the younger brother of Japasaw.
