The third John Cory, son of John and Mary Cory was born 3 February 1673/4 in Huntington, Long Island. He apparently had moved to Elizabeth Town, New Jersey by 16 March 1697/8 as he married Priscilla Osborn in Elizabeth Town on that day. Priscilla is said to have been born around 1677 in Elizabeth town to Joseph and Priscilla (Roberts) Osborn. Priscilla and John Cory were the parents of Mary, Elnathan, John, Hannah, Joseph, Benjamin, and Elizabeth. In 1719 John Cory bought 63 acres of land near Westfield, New Jersey from David Watkins. This is where John and his family lived until his death. John's will is dated 3 March 1720 and was filed at Taunton, Massachusetts. It was proved at Elizabeth Town on 7 January 1723 and names his wife Priscilla as executrix. He is said to be buried in the old Presbyterian Church yard in Elizabeth Town, New Jersey. While the church and churchyard still exist, it appears that many of the graves have been removed in the name of progress. Priscilla's will is dated 6 March 1722 and was proved 17 December 1723, the day after her death. References
