This was one of the First Families of Early Orange/Augusta County, Virginia [[1]]


More information needed on this family. Not sure how James Caldwell is related to other early Caldwell immigrants. There are two other Caldwell immigrants to early Augusta County about the same time as James, John Caldwell [[2]] (who supposedly married Lettice Fulton), George Caldwell and William Caldwell, who MAY be brothers to this James Caldwell. More research is necessary to prove any relationship. Please provide sources with any updates.
