The entry for Jacob Griswold's marriage to Mary transcribed from Wethersfield Vital Statistics does not indicate Mary's last name. Torrey identifies it as Wright. The Ancestral File has 2 possibilities: Mary Francis (b. Oct 1656 in Wethersfield) and Mary Wright (b. Apr 1665 in Wethersfield), and many compilers have followed each. Given the fact that their last child was born in 1707, Mary Francis is not a likely candidate (unless Jacob was first married to Mary Francis and then to Mary Wright - but there is no reason to assume this). Therefore, I have chosen to follow the identification of Jacob's wife as Mary Wright, as identified by Torrey.
Note that if Jacob Griswold married Mary Wright, then it was Mary Wright, daughter of Joseph & Mary, born 15 Apr 1665 (as indicated by Torrey), not Mary Wright, daughter of Thomas & Elizabeth, born 4 Mar 1664, who married Jonathan Belding on the same day as Jacob and Mary were married (10 Dec 1685) (WetVR: 'Jonathan [Belden],m.Mary Wright,d.Thomas,decd.,Dec.10,1685').
