Elisha Horne married Sophia Meador, daughter of Jason Meador, Jr. Jason was not happy about Elisha as a husband for Sophia because he lived too far away (20 miles). But when Elisha came to request permission to marry Sophia, he came in a carriage drawn by four horses and wearing fine clothes, and so impressed Jason, that Jason agreed to the marriage.
Elisha and Sophia Horne were the parents of William E. Horne (b. 1796 [sic], d. 1878 [sic]). William Horne m. his 1st cousin Sallie Meador as his first wife and they had 7 children. Sallie died age 36, and William m. Sallie Caraway [sic] as his second wife. They had 9 children.
