'Edward1 Morgan, of Philadelphia, later of near Gwynedd, ... married Elizabeth (Jarman?), who ... was probably a daughter of John Jarman, an early Quaker immigrant from Wales to Pennsylvania.' The author refers the reader to an appendix at the end of the article for a discussion of Elizabeth's possible origin.

The author explains on pages 111-12 how he chose to order the children of Edward and Elizabeth, stating 'the order of the children of Edward Morgan used here is based on these observations, but clearly cannot be regarded as definitive.' The observations mentioned strongly suggest that the sons were born in the order: William, Edward Jr, John, Daniel, Morgan, and Joseph. The evidence for the order of the daughters is less consistent, but it suggests an order of: Elizabeth, Margaret, Alice, and Sarah (with Deborah's placement based on her death date).
