CONRAD WILHITE (TOBIAS, MICHAEL) (M) CA. 1758 Elizabeth Broyles b. ca. 1740, daughter of Jacob and Catherine (Fleishman) Broyles. (See Jacob Broyles' will, November 3, 1761, W.B. "A", p. 284). Rosina is the only child listed in the Hebron records. When she was christened, the sponsors were Jacob Broyles, Matthias Broyles, Mary Broyles, and Dorothy Broyles. Conrad sold 100 acres of land "lying on the branches of Deep Run" to Michael Wilhoite. This was probably the land received from his father Tobias (Culpeper Co., Va. W.B. "A", p. 282). The date of sale was August 21, 1775 (Culpeper D.B. "H", p. 111. This was the last record of Conrad in Virginia. On April 19, 1782 he witnessed the will of Adam Broyles in Washington Co., N.C. (now Tenn.). On 12 June 1783 "Conrad Wilhite was issued Specie for one pound, fourteen shillings in Sullivan Co, N.C. (Now Tenn.) (North Carolina Revolutionary War Accounts). Conrad moved to present Campbell Co., Tenn. (then Grainger) where he bought 100 acres of land on March 29, 1800 from John Love, lying in Powell's Valley on the head waters of Indian Creek. The last record we hve of Conrad is an indenture made in Campbell Co., Tenn., Feb. 17, 1809, between Hugh Montgomery on the one part and Simeon Wilhite and Henry McKinney as executors of the last will and testament of Conrad Wilhite deceased on the other part. This proves that Conrad left a will, but it has not been located. So Conrad probably died about 1808-09 in Campbell Co., Tenn. Children of Conrad and Elizabeth (Broyles) Wilhite: Ref. Dr. A. L. Keith, and Family Bible of Stephen Wilhite.
