"Mr. Clarence A. Torrey calls attention to the fact that Charles Williams, founder of the Colchester, Conn., family (TAG 34:170) married Elizabeth Weeks at Marlborough, Mass., 11 Jan. 1686, both called of Worcester, entered in Middlesex Co., Mass., Clerk's Records of Births, Marriages and Deaths, vol. 1, p.559. Since the entry follows marriages on 14 and 30 Dec. 1686 and was recorded 22 July 1687, the date is undoubtedly meant for 1686/7. Mr. Torrey also notes that this and further information was given by the late Philip M. Smith, TAG 17:191. The latter states that William Weeks of Enfield, 1690, left property to Elizabeth wife of Charles Williams, his kinswoman. William Weekes died at Enfield 18 July 1690 aged 'about 60 years.'"
