Benjamin came to Iowa in a covered wagon from Indiana and lived on a farm near Casey, Iowa, where he grew to manhood. Later he spent some time in Idaho and returned to farm in Grant township, Guthrie County, Iowa. He later moved to Bear Grove where he lived for 38 years.
