Although it is unlkely, it is interesting to note that there is an old Flatbush community on the town line of Saugerties and Ulster just north of Kingston. Is there a possibility that it is to this location and not Long Island that the family relocated from Albany? It would better explain their presence at Kingston after 1678.

There is also considered speculation in the details of the births of their children. Some maintain that either Annatje or Johannes was the child born in 1663, and that the two deaths were her two children by the earlier marriages. It also seems odd that there weren't other children born as well, particularly if they married as early as 1658.
