No birth children. Adopted Hiram Shepard, son of wife's sister Sibyl Barber Shepherd (married to Joseph Shepherd). Hiram took the Doolittle name, married Lucy H., and had several children. Hiram, his wife and some children are buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Winchester, NH with Amzi Jr., his wife Esther (Barber), his birth mother, Sybil (Barber) Shepherd.
