main article: WeRelate: ToDo List Original requirement statement: Show talk page at bottom of page Requirement discussion: discuss below [edit] DiscussionThe MediaWiki software defaults to discussion on a separate linked page in a separate namespace (e.g. page and talk:page). A quick-and-dirty approach would be to use transclusion to put the Talk page at the bottom of the Article page. Some other wiki software defaults to discussion building at the end of a page; for instance, the Atlassian Confluence product ("discuss" feature) and open source TWiki (Comment Plugin) both default to having comments on the same page; TWiki allows for specification of the comment location. There are likely some published manuscripts in the knowledge management and user interface design literature that speak to efficacy of comment positioning relative to different use cases and comment volume, but I've not found specific examples in a minute of searching. --ceyockey 14:47, 13 December 2008 (EST) |
