Gedcom Review [30 January 2016]

Hi I took a look at your gedcom and there may be a couple of small problems.

In the families tab there are several families where a partner or a date is marked as living, as you cannot added events for living people in WeRelate these should be excluded if they are living people.

The places tab has a few entries that are not places, such as baptized, obviosly they cannot be matched with places in the database, you may want to correct the fields in your database or edit them after upload.

With sources, it is great to see a lot of sources but a lot have not been linked to WeRelate source pages, you may want to check if you can link them, matching them before import is often easier than doing it after import.

Once you have checked it over you can resubmit it, the main problem is the living families, if they are not living or if you have other questions please ask them here, I will get the message and will approve your upload as soon as I can. -Rhian 09:12, 26 January 2016 (UTC)

The whole point of WeRelate is to create one tree, and it helps to this end if we all follow a few simple rules. The instructions for uploading are clear, we cannot add data for living people and wherever possible we try to link places and sources to existing ones, to this end the gedcom check programme tries it best to do as much as it can for you but will inevitably not be able to match everything or even get everything right which is why uploaders are asked to check each of the tabs on the import page. If you find an error, such as Bakersville, it is often easier to correct it before import than after. I have corrected them for you and removed the families with living people and approved the upload. You know what.... I have been doing my tree for 30+ years and have never had so many issues with entering new blood into a tree... What is so funny is you are trying to add my HOMETOWN of BAKERSFIELD CALIFORNIA as BAKERSVILLE CALIFORNIA...HA-HA Come on now....There is NO SUCH place....But ya'll have all the correct entry's I suppose...Who am I to disagree??? There may be a couple of misspellings or the wrong info on a a certain individual that can be corrected in my tree and am done jumping through these hoops...You can add it as is and I will fix after up or just remove me from the site. • launch the Family Tree Explorer to navigate your tree
• view your network -- If you matched families in your GEDCOM to existing families, find out to which other WeRelate users you are related.
• view related pages not in your tree -- If you matched families in your GEDCOM to existing families, find out which people you are now related to that you can add to your tree (takes awhile to display for large trees).
• view a searchable list of the pages in your tree -- The searchable list will be available about an hour after your tree has been imported.
