I see you created this source last November (Nov 2020). I've in the past day redirected it to Source:Kentucky, United States. Kentucky Marriages, 1785-1979 and manually revised the previous linked pages to point at the new merged source. Now that you have uploaded Alexander Dale.ged into our review program, it is time for you to match your data to ours. Your next step is to review and resolve any potential warnings that your file might be showing and to match place names, source names and families to pages that may already exist in our database. Notes:
Click here to enter the review program WeRelate is different from most family tree websites. By contributing here you are helping to create Pando for genealogy, a free, unified family tree that combines the best information from all contributors.
[add comment] [edit] Admin review of Gedcom [6 January 2023]Hello, Pam41014. I've been reviewing the Gedcom you submitted for import. Files as large as this often have many problems, but this one does not have all that many. However, there are a few problems that will need to be fixed and then a new version of the Gedcom file submitted. Most of the problems are mentioned under the "Warnings" tab on the Review page (which you used to advance to the import-review stage). In particular, the problems listed with "Level" values of "Error" or "Warning" (shown in pink) list the most significant problems which probably need fixing. For instance, there are two different men named Ollie Dale shown as marrying Estille Cundiff. Another case is that of Jane Dale, whose information seems to be a mixture of data for two different people, one born in the 1790s and one born in the 1760s. This leads to the error messages about how Jane gave birth to two children before Jane had reached the age of twelve. After these and other problems are corrected, the revised Gedcom is likely to be accepted (although living people will automatically be bypassed and not be imported). If you have questions, you can contact me on my talk page, or add a note below (since I will be monitoring this page for some period). Cheers, --robert.shaw 00:54, 1 January 2023 (UTC) Hello, I did see the errors but I couldn’t figure out how to correct them. Is there a way I can access it again to get the list and/or correct them? Thanks, Pam--Pam41014 21:56, 1 January 2023 (UTC) Pam, now that your uploaded Gedcom has been returned to your control by the admin reviewer (me), you can access the uploaded data as you did before by clicking the "Click here to enter the review program" link in the earlier automated message above. When you are in that review program, it is possible to make a few quick fixes, but only to certain kinds of data. What can be changed is limited to the textual data on an uploaded Person or Family page, such as a date or place. What cannot be changed is relationship data, such as who is the wife in a family or what family a child should be placed in. That kind of data can be changed only by deleting the uploaded Gedcom, modifying the relationships in whatever program is being used for the pre-Gedcom data, and then generating a new Gedcom file and uploading that. To make changes to the textual data for a person, you select the person in the review program. This brings the data for the Person in the lower half of the screen. If you look closely in the upper left corner of that half-screen, under the person's name there is a small, blue "Edit" link. Click that and the display will change to an "Editing" display somewhat similar to the normal editing screen used for adding or editing data manually on WeRelate. The text that can be changed is that which is in the text boxes that as displayed. At the bottom is a "Save Page" button (or a Cancel link) once you have made the change. Remember that this is only changing the pending-import data, not any data in the permanent WeRelate database, which means that your changes will be lost if the import does not proceed to the final stage of completion, for instance if the import must be abandoned in order to correct other problems. It seems that some of the problems in the present Gedcom are relationship problems, e.g. the two Ollie Dales marrying the same woman. That needs to be corrected in your pre-Gedcom genealogy software and a replacement Gedcom generated from it. If that is indeed the situation, you wouldn't want to do edits on the current pending-import Gedcom data since those changes will be thrown away when you delete the Gedcom as is necessary to upload the replacement Gedcom. I hope this clarifies things for you. Further questions are welcome if you have some. --robert.shaw 04:19, 2 January 2023 (UTC) Hello again, Pam, Hi Robert that would be great!! Give me an hour or so to make a list of what will need corrected please. Pam I have my list ready… Pam41014 Hi, Pam, the Gedcom should be imported by now. Remember to make your corrections that have not been done. The major ones I know of are:
You can go to Estille's Person page to find the Ollie that needs to be diconnected. I think a separate Jane will need to be created for the "12 year old". Thanks for your contribution and happy editing. --robert.shaw 21:37, 6 January 2023 (UTC) [add comment] [edit] Alexander Dale.ged Imported Successfully [6 January 2023]Congratulations!
