I'm Mary, one of the volunteer administrators for WeRelate. I noticed that you have detailed information listed for Person:Nancy O'Loughlan (1), who is living. Please see the policy below, taken from our Help pages:

Can I create person pages for living persons?

   We recommend that pages for living people not be created. If created, pages for living people should connect to pages for non-living people. Pages for living people found in uploaded GEDCOM files are created only if they belong to families with one or more non-living members. 

   Pages for living people may only contain the following information: the word "Living" for the person's given name, the person's surname, their gender, and the families to which the person belongs. Pages for living people may not contain any other information. For example, the person page for a deceased person named "Miles Mock" might be entitled "Miles Mock (1)" and contain information on his gender, birth, marriage, death, etc. The person page for a living person named "Miles Mock" would be entitled "Living Mock (1)" and contain only gender information and the families of which Miles is a member. If someone was born within the last 110 years and has no listed date or place for death or burial, we will assume they are alive. Death information is required to post additional information about these individuals.

public.ged appears to overlap a previously-imported GEDCOM [24 November 2007]

The pages from this GEDCOM have not yet been generated because they appear to match pages from a GEDCOM you have previously imported to WeRelate.

If you have already imported a GEDCOM containing people in this GEDCOM and you want to replace that tree with this GEDCOM, you need to delete that tree first so duplicates aren't created when you import this GEDCOM. Go to the Family Tree page, scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click on the "delete" link next to that tree. Please be aware that any pages in that tree that are being watched by others won't get deleted. Once that tree is deleted you can create a new tree and re-upload this GEDCOM into it. (We're planning to make re-uploading GEDCOM files much simpler later this Fall.)

Welcome to the WeRelate community. I noticed that your gedcom has been uploaded. The system is new and might be a little confusing at first. Do you need any help with the review process? If you were not aware of the review process, click on the above link to go to review page. You can come and go as you have time. The link to gedcom review is located in a message on your talk page. (Click on MyRelate and select "Talk Page.")

WeRelate is an active community of genealogists staffed by volunteers. Our mission is help people to collaborate on common ancestors. The review process will connect you with other genealogists researching common ancestors. Your gedcom cannot be uploaded until you have checked the warnings and possible matches with common ancestors. The warnings will tell you if someone died before they married/were born, etc. You can correct the page in the lower window by clicking on the edit link. You must look at every warning and every suggested match. You need to read through the warnings and review the suggested family matches. For each family match, please mark it as a match or not a match.

Let me know if you need help getting started. You should be aware that Gedcoms left unreviewed/uploaded will be deleted after ten days.  :)

Hi John Ryan,

I noticed you created Person:Living Turner (312). The quoted 'Living' policy above from 2007 is no longer up to date. We no longer allow blank living pages like that, even if they give no info. The only exception now is living pages for notable people (ie the PM of Australia) or people with notable enough for wikipedia articles. • launch the Family Tree Explorer to navigate your tree
• view your network -- If you matched families in your GEDCOM to existing families, find out to which other WeRelate users you are related.
• view related pages not in your tree -- If you matched families in your GEDCOM to existing families, find out which people you are now related to that you can add to your tree (takes awhile to display for large trees).
• view a searchable list of the pages in your tree -- The searchable list will be available about an hour after your tree has been imported.

WeRelate is different from most family tree websites. By contributing to WeRelate you are helping to create Pando for genealogy, a free, unified family tree that combines the best information from all contributors.

Now that you have uploaded Kuhn.ged, your next step is to review what your pages will look like, review any potential warnings, and combine (merge) people in your GEDCOM with matching people already on WeRelate. You need to review your GEDCOM before it can finish importing. We will keep your GEDCOM in the queue for two weeks to give you time to review it.

Note: if your gedcom contains many errors or multiple families, we’d ask that you resolve and correct the errors, delete this gedcom and re-submit it without the errors before merging it with families already on WeRelate. If the gedcom is very large, we’d suggest breaking it up into separate files (or families) and importing them one at a time, which makes the review and correction process easier.
