Navigation from page to page [18 May 2008]

Hi John,

First complete your profile. Select your user page and click on edit. Complete your profile. Then you should find a link to your created pages on your user page. There is a default tree that you can name or you can leave the default tree empty and create a new tree. Without going into too much detail my advice is to create a new tree that begins with a letter after d; or if you plan on one tree only you can use the default tree.

Add your created pages to your new tree. After you have completed these tasks; then select My Relate from the blue bar and from the drop down menu select trees. There you will find an option to email the URL of your tree to family and friends. I like to use the Family Tree Explorer for my nevigation. You do this by launching FTE that is connected to your tree. This will open a navigation side panel on the left of your screen. If you work within the FTE then all of your pages will automatically be added to the correct tree. You can work on your pages without using the FTE but then must remember to check which tree the page should go in, this option will be shown at the bottom of your edit page.

About collaboration; You can allow your family and friends to use your user name and password to work on pages; or they can register with their own user name and password. If they register with their own user name and password; the best way to collaborate is to have each one add a copy of your tree to their Family Tree Explorer. They can rename the tree. Don't worry there is still only one page per person on WeRelate; so although you would have several trees with different names in different FTEs; y'all would still be working on the same pages.

Hope I have helped some and not confused you more.

We can continue to discuss this on your talk page if you prefer. Your talk page is one of my watched pages so I will be notified if you make another entry.

Happy to have an enthusiastic user; You will be contributing in no time. Feel free to ask more questions. Dallan and Solveig are the ones to thank for WeRelate and the sponsors. I am a fairly new user myself; really began understanding some of this in December 2007. --Beth 12:37, 18 May 2008 (EDT)

Amos West and Frances Herndon [9 July 2012]

Hi, John. You haven't been active on WeRelate for awhile. Have you found any new and interesting information on your West family? Wondering if you would upload the image of the marriage bond that you mention on Family:Amos West and Frances Herndon (1)'s marriage page? This page lists several West family marriages in the same time frame and place as Amos, [1]. Have you researched these families? Thanks. --Beth 09:00, 9 July 2012 (EDT)
