Hello Jessica, Thank you for the quick reaction.

I had already had picked up the story of Jan Jans Boschma and the herd of 24 "Frisian Stamboek" (Holsteiner) cows he accompanied to Whitinsville etc earlier. You can find my version of that story (in Dutch ) as a note in his record in my Boschma family tree. Also Rintje Jans ( Richard John) Boschma (Bosma) and his 2 wifes Antje (Lotje)Plantinga and their Children and Antje Stegerda (which he married after the death if Antje And his sister Yfke (Eve) Boschma 1858-1917 and her husband Wytze Jabobs Feddema 1856 - 1947). Including their birth (Dutch), wedding (Dutch) and immigration registrations (Dutch and USA) But I'm still interested in their more recent decendants in the USA, after stating a new life in Massachusetts.

In my family tree you will be able to find all the Dutch Civil Administration records (after 1811) (fiches) of the Boschma family, also including some USA born descendants that I know of. But I'm still interested in their more recent decendants in the USA, after stating a new life in Massachusetts.

Quite often it is also possible to look into the digital records of those certificates on the Dutch archives online ( on the Frisian Tresoar.nl archive site or when using the recently launched WieWasWie.nl site (which links to the Dutch National Archive records, but also has an increasing number of automatic links to the local archive sites like: Tresoar.nl and AlleFriezen.nl. Quite handy! But in many cases for records older that 1811 I still have to pay a visit to those local archive sites, or use the new site ZoekAkten.nl, which is a new portal to look into the Dutch DTB ( Baptise, Wedding and Funeral church books) as were registered on film by Familysearch.

Thanks for the links to the records of my uncle Cor (Cornelis) ant aunt Corrie(Popkorina)! Those registration records I had not found yet! I knew them in person as a little boy before the immigrated to Australia and their daughter Aafke Boschma and her husband. We met again when the paid a visit to the Netherlands in 2012 and a reunion meeting was organized. Earlier a meeting was arranged with my uncle Cor and aunt Corrie, when they paid a visit to Holland, but unfortunately he died on a hart attack during that visit, just a few days before the planned reunion date.

Exporting and Importing a GEDCOM affecting the Boschma's might be an option, but I think the Dutch notes then might need a translation?

Boschma Family in the USA, The Neterlands and Australia [6 July 2014]

Hello Jan, thank you for your message! I'm not related to this Boschma family, but one of my projects is researching the Frisian immigrants to Whitinsville, Massachusetts. The story is the first Frisian to settle in Whitinsville was Jan "Bosma" who came to the U.S. with a herd of Holstein cows purchased by Mrs. Whitin. Additional family members followed.

You may already know of this resource for your Australia research, both Cornelis Boschma and his wife (with their photos!) can be found here:

I will definitely look to your geneanet tree as I'm researching this family! If you are at all interested, WR does allow GEDCOM imports (via Add>Import GEDCOM).

You mentioned "but I'm interested to find out somewhat more about their siblings etc.". What information are you looking for on them in particular?
