WeRelate is different from most family tree websites. By contributing to WeRelate you are helping to create Pando for genealogy, a free, unified family tree that combines the best information from all contributors. Now that you have uploaded Innes02172014.ged, your next step is to review what your pages will look like, review any potential warnings, and combine (merge) people in your GEDCOM with matching people already on WeRelate. You need to review your GEDCOM before it can finish importing. We will keep your GEDCOM in the queue for two weeks to give you time to review it. Note: if your gedcom contains many errors or multiple families, we’d ask that you resolve and correct the errors, delete this gedcom and re-submit it without the errors before merging it with families already on WeRelate. If the gedcom is very large, we’d suggest breaking it up into separate files (or families) and importing them one at a time, which makes the review and correction process easier. Click here to review your GEDCOM Once you have finished your review and marked your GEDCOM Ready to import, one of our administrators will review your GEDCOM and finalize the import. This usually happens within 24 hours. You will receive a message here when the pages have been created.

[add comment] [edit] In answer to your queries [5 November 2017]Hi My corrections were, as you surmised, an attempt to bring your entries to WR standards, with a little knowledge of Ontario geography thrown in. The purpose of our rules is to make a database of places that will assist people in linking a family provided by one user to one provided by another. Machines do not match "Montreal, Quebec, Canada" to "Montreal, PQ, Canada" or "Montreal, Que., Canada". (And in WR-speak both Montreal and Quebec ought to have acute accents, but no one has ever told me how to add them except by "cut and paste", and I don't have any handy.) WeRelate asks us to spell all parts of places out in full. No "Ont"s or "ON"s, or anything similar. In the case of the UK, there are very few acknowledged universal abbreviations anyway. Making these changes within WR is a long job, but I think many family tree software packages allow the use of "search and replace" as a bulk alteration. In other words, do it first and make a clean upload. While Canada and the United States have a 4-tier entry of inhabited place, county, state/province and country, the rest of the world is organized on a 3-tier basis. For the UK that is inhabited place, county and country (England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland), but omit United Kingdom. If the three tiers leave you with bits you still want to add, put them in the description box. Despite its size, it can take a lot of material. Off the top of my head, these are the important things to be careful about. There is plenty more in the ''https://www.werelate.org/wiki/Help:Place_pages'' to consider. Do read a place page or two for areas you are interested in. Try and understand what a "pipe" is and how WR uses it. For the past two years my hobby has been improving WR's geographical knowledge. You have no idea what the "contained places" list on the Canada page looked like when I first saw it. At the moment Wales is almost in the same condition. I can't answer your printing problem. I know how to print a WR page, but no more than that. Apparently the WR family tree software isn't working at the moment. (This might be a question for User:cos1776.) One point on a non-geography problem: In the "Family History" box at the bottom of the Edit page for any person--a single carriage return doesn't work. Double carriage returns give a line space between paragraphs. If you want to keep material closer than that, use <br> where you are aiming for a new para.--Goldenoldie 15:16, 5 November 2017 (UTC) Thanks very much for this. I'll do my best to comply in future. Best regards, Andrew--Innesaj 20:29, 5 November 2017 (UTC) [add comment] [edit] GEDCOM Export Ready [14 November 2017]The GEDCOM for tree Innes Genealogy is ready to download. Click here.
