Cheney family [20 January 2009]

Hello Gewurztraminer,

There ia an article in The American Genealogist, short name TAG, issue Whole #304, Vol. 76, #4, p. 245, Oct 2001 by Leslie Mahler about the John Cheney family. According to the article; his first wife was Amy ___, as given in the Mistley baptismal records. John married second Martha Smithe in Lawford, Essex on 3 Mar 1630/1. The children of John and 1st wife Amy are: Mary, Martha, and John. The children of John and his 2nd wife Martha Smith[e] are Peter, (dau.) Cheney, Daniel, Sarah, Lydia, Peter (again), Hannah, Nathaniel, and Elizabeth. I am not researching or descended from this family. --Beth 19:40, 20 January 2009 (EST)

I'd like to give you an award [9 May 2009]

Hi, I just reviewed your two gedcoms. Of the gedcom's I've reviewed during the past month, yours are the best-sourced! Congratulations, and I hope you enjoy WeRelate.--Dallan 12:13, 9 May 2009 (EDT)

Thanks! --Gewurztraminer 14:26, 9 May 2009 (EDT)

Oops [17 June 2009]

I wanted to let you know that I found a problem with GEDCOM export that I just introduced with the last set of changes. It's fixed now, but it looks like you exported a GEDCOM while problem was still there. You'll probably want to re-export the GEDCOM file. Thanks.--Dallan 22:38, 17 June 2009 (EDT)

I blamed the GEDCOM weirdness on the new program I was trying out! --dayna 22:46, 17 June 2009 (EDT)

I just made another fix. It should help importing into The Master Genealogist in case you're using that program. I know that PAF worked ok without the fix, but I don't know about other programs.--Dallan 23:51, 17 June 2009 (EDT)

Project? [16 July 2009]

I noticed you're blazing through sources adding categories. Is there a project going on to do that? Last I heard, the subject was going to be used instead of the general categories.--Amelia 00:55, 16 July 2009 (EDT)

No, no project. I noticed some of the sources I've used weren't in any categories while others were. I find that in a wiki environment categories are one of the most useful ways for finding information, and I had some free time, so I went through the sources on my watchlist and added categories to any "orphaned" sources. --dayna 05:49, 16 July 2009 (EDT)

Gedcom export [28 July 2009]

Hi,

I noticed that there was an error exporting your gedcom today. I believe I've fixed the problem. Would you please try again? Thanks.--Dallan 19:31, 28 July 2009 (EDT)

Seems to be working now. Thanks, Dallan! --dayna 19:36, 28 July 2009 (EDT)

Stowell Genealogy [27 August 2009]

Hi - I'm looking at the Manuscript sources. Is Source:The Stowell Genealogy the following?

Stowell, William Henry Harrison,. Stowell genealogy : a record of the descendants of Samuel Stowell, of Hingham, Mass.. Rutland, Vt.: Tuttle, 1922.

If so, I (or you, if you want) can update it to a book source type. Or, is it a local manuscript genealogy of Stowells in the area? If so, does it have an author that you know of?

Thanks, Brenda --kennebec1 22:16, 26 August 2009 (EDT)

No, it's not the Stowell book. (I wish it was so I could see it in person!) Like you say, it's a local collection of papers, obituaries, family bibles, newspaper clippings, etc. --Dayna 07:05, 27 August 2009 (EDT)

Silver Creek Cemetery [21 December 2009]

Hi Dayna,

I was working on some cemetery pages and came across yours for Silver Creek Cemetery in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin. Do you know if this is also known as St. Paul's Cemetery? When I searched for Silver Creek on FindAGrave, it came up as "See St. Paul's." I didn't want to add the link to FindAGrave without knowing if this is the same cemetery. Thanks! -- Amy 09:10, 21 December 2009 (EST)

[5 May 2010]

Dayna, I happened upon some pages for Chandler, Mildred, and Herschel Piper that had your name as watcher. These are people in my wife's family. In fact, Chandler Kirk Piper (1879-1945)is her Grandfather. I note that you are following McVay family, so I'm sure these are the same people. I'd be willing to share any sources that I have.

The Vinton Perry Wray Family [4 October 2010]

Dayna: it has been a while since we "e talked". Since we first found out information on my mom's side of the family (Wrays) we have enjoyed so much all the new information. One thing we would like to do is add our family information to that already printed. Like my brother is not listed, my mother's death and father's death. All the grand/great/great children. But we do not know where to send it. This would be under the VINTON P WRAY family information. Could you help us to list all this information? I have tried to contact the Lakeport, CA genalogical society to no avail. We thought perhaps some of the other family members might see our information and contact us. If you can help, we would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

Patricia A Blondell

Henry Scharf Obituary [23 January 2015]

I thought you would be interested in this obituary. I know it raises isome questions. (If Henry and his first wife were married in Germany before 1863, why is there a marriage license for them in La Porte county in 1865? Are Louise and William in Wisconsin children from the first marriage?)I have pondered these and other puzzles, but never really tackled them. Possibly you want to make your own theories and test them. Alan H Zeller--AZeller 23:01, 21 May 2011 (EDT)

Andrew M. Wray and Berrien Co, MI Wrays [24 June 2019]

Dayna,

Andrew Wray had another son, Lewis W., born 1806, that is not listed in the data present in werelate.org. My branch of the family is from that son. Additional information can be found on my Ancestry Family Tree: Tom Ray family tree 2019.

I know that Andrew Wray moved to Berrien Co., MI to live with Hiram Wray and that he is buried there, somewhere. I believe the orig. grave was moved to Oak Ridge Cemetery, Buchanan, MI. I have been there, but did not find the headstone. My understanding is that it is only marked "AW" and maybe a year? I thought I saw a picture of it once on the web, but cannot find it now.

Any help, clarification about Hiram and where he is buried would be appreciated.
