WeRelate is different from most family tree websites. By contributing to WeRelate you are helping to create Pando for genealogy, a free, unified family tree that combines the best information from all contributors.

Now that you have uploaded Ray-King LA_MS.ged, your next step is to review what your pages will look like, review any potential warnings, and combine (merge) people in your GEDCOM with matching people already on WeRelate. You need to review your GEDCOM before it can finish importing. We will keep your GEDCOM in the queue for two weeks to give you time to review it.

Your gedcom [7 May 2014]

Hello,

WeRelate is different from other genealogy websites. This is a community where you can collaborate with others on common ancestors. This is not a place to post your gedcom and never come back. As such, we ask that people clean their gedcoms before the information is shared with the community. The system automatically checked your gedcom for common errors that we all make. It's my job to go through gedcoms before they are uploaded into the database. Your gedcom has some problems must be corrected before it can be uploaded.

1. I need you to click on the warnings tab and correct as many of the problems as you can. There are women giving birth before age 12 and after age 45. There are also people getting married in their 70's and duplicate pages. In the cases where husband and wife have the same last name, please verify that they do. If you don't know the wife's surname, please delete the surname.
2. Please click on the "Family Matches" tab and compare your pages to the suggested duplicates. Then select which information you wish to include. As it sits now, the additional information in your gedcom is going to be deleted when your data is merged with existing data. I assume this is not what you want.

Needs more data [7 May 2014]

Hello, WeRelate is not like other genealogy websites. We are a community where you can collaborate with others on common ancestors. WeRelate is not just another place to post your gedcom and never come back. As such, we require users to clean their data before it is added to the community database. The system automatically checked your gedcom for common errors that we all make. It's my job to go over gedcoms before the information is uploaded. Would you please

1. click on the warnings tab and correct as many errors as possible. We realize that nobodies research is perfect but some things can be corrected. There are women giving birth before age 12 after age 45. People getting married after 70 and duplicate pages. For wives having the same surname as husbands, please verify. If you don't know the surname of the wife, please delete her husband's surname from her surname field.
2. Please click on the "Family Matches" tab and update the matched families. As it sits now, all the extra data in your gedcom will be deleted at upload. I'm sure this is not what you want.
