Thank you for your latest message Betty. I will add more when I can. We both go back to the Wm Garlick who died 1821 and I'm trying to go back further. Did the Beardsells live at a farm called Twiselden, long gone but marked on the 1854 map? The Garlicks must have lived at Meal Hill, the first farm one right on the brow before you drop over to Digley. BTW, I posted also as Garlickgrum, not realisibg--Jambongris 11:20, 13 January 2019 (UTC)

Welcome [28 April 2010]

Can I tell you how excited I am to have someone else with an interest in the same people in WeRelate. I have had these people in there for months now and I was thinking it would never happen.

A lot of these people are not my ancestors. My interest is residents of the parish of Holme. My mother was born there and It seems, since I have tabulated the residents, that about 600 of the almost 4000 people I have entered are related in some way - probably all of them if I could find records going far enough back !

Im not sure if you discovered it but I use www.werelate.org/wiki/HolmeVillageHome as my "Home page" and it describes what I am trying to do. As you know No-one 'owns' anything in WeRelate so please feel free to modify anything (Including "Home page" and the like) I have uploaded. I'd rather it be correct then have any sort of 'ownership' over things.

My intention is to work through sorting out errors and adding Info as it comes to light. I may have slacked off recently but your arrival has renewed my resolve.

I am also sending you my tree link so you can becoem a reader for all my pages in one go (I you wish to do that)--Dsrodgers34 17:44, 27 April 2010 (EDT)

Garlicks [28 October 2012]

Dear Betty, I am a Garlick on my mother's and go back to Willam Garlick of Meal Hill, who died in 1821. I am trying to piece together who has been putting info on the site - it may be Dale Rodgers. But do you have any connection to the Garlicks? Graham Sykes--Garlickgrum 09:31, 28 October 2012 (EDT)

I am a direct descendent of Wallace Garlick, Lucy's brother. Wallace would have been my Great Grandfather. My grandfather was Jack Garlick, and his son of his third child, Barbara Garlick. Hilda Pettit, their third child, became a school teacher I beieve and lived in the Doncaster area. I have a bit more information about the William, Lucy and Hilda if you want to get in touch.--Jambongris 14:53, 12 January 2019 (UTC)

Thank you Betty. I'll write a bit more asap. We live but a few miles from Holme. I know the spot where Twiselden was on the lane down to Digley. We walk up there. I think a number of dwellings had to be abandoned because they were in the resevoir catchment but can't be certain. My Uncle Stanley Garlick told me this was the fate of a Garlick farm on the other side of the valley.--Jambongris 16:03, 13 January 2019 (UTC)
