Linked in to your Carpenter pages in Vermont [3 October 2007]

Hi there, just wanted to let you know that in pursuing my research on SLAFTER/SLATER family in colonial New England, I linked in to your Benjamin Carpenter page, and added some info on his impressive monument inscription. Benjamin's daughter Lois married into my SLATERs. It's fun to see this website living up to its promise of connecting different trees!--TomChatt 02:51, 3 October 2007 (EDT)

Responding to your message [26 October 2007]

Hi Bonnie,

I don't think I'm saying you should change anything, but much of your information related to Francis Cooke is duplicated elsewhere. When that happens, they should be merged, which generally means adding any info in the second (typically higher number) record to the first and putting a redirect in the second record. Since I'm also descended from Francis Cooke, I've been working on that line where the merge isn't prohibitively complicated (at which point I leave it to the promised automated merge).--Amelia.Gerlicher 11:02, 24 October 2007 (EDT)

Hi Amelia I did not realize I had a duplicate?

Still trying to learn how this all works, and since I have 7 Mayflower lines, I seem to be related to all of New England <VBG>

If you have suggestions as to how I correct my files, please feel free to contact me directly.

bonnie.travel@sympatico.ca

Why doesn't it take the at sign??????

Bonnie--Bboops 13:36, 26 October 2007 (EDT)

I wouldn't worry too much about duplicates, Dallan is working on the match/merge function. It will make combining pages easy. It should be operational first quarter 2008. Otherwise if you search each name, you will find duplicate pages.--sq 00:00, 27 October 2007 (EDT)

Robert Austin of RI [21 November 2007]

You have a Daniel Austin who you list as having a father of Robert. Daniel father is Jeremiah Austin. Robert Austin is Daniel's grandfather. I was going to edit the file and make the corrections but I thought that I would ask you first for permission.

I'm not quite sure what you're in need of with your request. But email me at the address here [1] with what's not working for you and I'll try to help. --Amelia 00:37, 8 March 2008 (EST)

Family:John Howland and Unknown (7)

This page (and the attached people) look to me like a problem in your initial database/GEDCOM. If you agree, perhaps you would delete them? Thanks...--Jrm03063 12:13, 2 April 2008 (EDT)

Merging through early New England.... [1 May 2008]

Have I saturated your mailbox with change notices yet?  :)....--Jrm03063 16:11, 30 April 2008 (EDT)

Have you visited Marston Manor? Dick Marston and the Lane Library web site?

Bonnie--Bboops 03:33, 1 May 2008 (EDT)

Not yet, which is pretty ironic since I lived in Hampton for about ten years...--Jrm03063 08:15, 1 May 2008 (EDT)

Documenting discredited relationships.... [1 May 2008]

I saw some of your edits, and I don't really have an opinion on their correctness, but if we're cutting away a spousal or parental relationship that someone entered, should we just do it silently? When I cut away a relationship, I try to put an explicit note on at least one side indicating that an incorrect connection formerly existed, what it was, and so forth. I think we need to do this, because errors exist in the GEDCOMs out there, and they'll just recur.--Jrm03063 08:14, 1 May 2008 (EDT)

Governor Welles [7 May 2008]

With respect to Governor Thomas Welles, you will want to examine [2].--Jrm03063 15:21, 7 May 2008 (EDT)

Hi I thought I was doing it right. Guess not.

Can you send me an email direct, and I will scan the info back to you.

Thanks, Bonnie--Bboops 16:06, 7 May 2008 (EDT)

Ebenezer Sherman (2) [1 September 2008]

The logs says that you deleted a tree containing among others, Ebenezer Sherman, the son of Samuel Sherman and Martha Tripp. There is no reason given.

Can I ask why? Was there also a tree hanging off Ebenezer or some of the other siblings you deleted?

According to my work there was a son named Ebenezer Sherman in this family and I happen to be descended from him.

I am sorry. I don't know how this page was deleted.

If you contact me directly, I will see what I can find in my files.

Marston pages [5 December 2008]

Hi Bonnie, Thanks for your note. I have been trying to merge pages and decided yesterday that it might be good to add a couple of notes when I find discrepancies, etc. Sorry to hear about your arms. Hope things get better. Do you live in New Hampshire? I think that would be great. One of my lines (Ordway) lived in Salem NH for awhile. Sheri--Sheri 17:13, 5 December 2008 (EST)

Need help? [12 January 2010]

I saw your message on the data entry page. There is a "Support" link on the help menu. If you leave a message explaining what you are trying to do and what you are having trouble with, I'm sure you can get the needed help. Many of the regulars watch that page. --Judy (jlanoux) 15:34, 3 January 2010 (EST)

I saw your message on support. I've just added all of the pages you are "watching" to a new tree named "New Tree". You can launch the family tree explorer on this tree by clicking on "Trees" in the "MyRelate" menu.--Dallan 15:12, 12 January 2010 (EST)

Solomon Baker [2 May 2010]

I have been trying to find the parents of Solomon Baker, b 1750 (RI), m Lydia Kenyon 1770, Richmond, RI.

I do have a Solomon Baker b 1750 in Beekman, NY, son of John Baker and Elizabeth Adams.

Also, I have the Trial of Solomon for Treason, Hung in Poughkeepse NY 1783, for Treason.

Do you have anything in your files that could help sort these guys out?

Hi Bonnie, Solomon remains a mystery to me. I have tried to connect him to Elisha Baker of Exter without success. One possible source that I have not checked is the film of Town Council Records for Richmond. Have you connected John & Elizabeth (Adams) Baker to a RI location?--Susan Irish 23:23, 1 May 2010 (EDT)
