[add comment] [edit] Next step: Review your GEDCOM [26 October 2015]You're not done yet! WeRelate is different from most family tree websites. By contributing to WeRelate you are helping to create Pando for genealogy, a free, unified family tree that combines the best information from all contributors. Now that you have uploaded Andrews St Louis_2015_10_13.ged, your next step is to review what your pages will look like, review any potential warnings, and combine (merge) people in your GEDCOM with matching people already on WeRelate. You need to review your GEDCOM before it can finish importing. We will keep your GEDCOM in the queue for two weeks to give you time to review it. Note: if your gedcom contains many errors or multiple families, we’d ask that you resolve and correct the errors, delete this gedcom and re-submit it without the errors before merging it with families already on WeRelate. If the gedcom is very large, we’d suggest breaking it up into separate files (or families) and importing them one at a time, which makes the review and correction process easier. Click here to review your GEDCOM Once you have finished your review and marked your GEDCOM Ready to import, one of our administrators will review your GEDCOM and finalize the import. This usually happens within 24 hours. You will receive a message here when the pages have been created.

[add comment] [edit] Need help? [13 December 2016]Hello. I am a volunteer admin and member of our WeRelate:Mentoring committee. I noticed that you are trying to upload a GEDCOM and wanted to drop you a note to see if you had any questions or would like any help? Although the file had been uploaded, your talk page had been deleted, so there was no place for the system to send you the link to the review program. I went ahead and restored your talk page, so that you can receive communication again. If I am in error, it can be deleted again. Please feel free to respond here on your talk page, and I will see the response, or if you'd prefer, you can post questions to our community Support page and one of our volunteers will respond shortly. Best Wishes! --cos1776 15:23, 13 December 2016 (UTC) [add comment] [edit] Next step: Review your GEDCOM [13 December 2016]You're not done yet! [add comment] [edit] Re: Nathan Rice [18 December 2016]Hi Bob - Thanks for the note on 16 Dec on my talk page. I'm sorry for the delay in responding. I have been traveling this weekend. You wrote:
It looks like another contributor went ahead and stepped in and made updates to Person:Nathan Rice (9) from your file, but now I also see that you are no longer "watching" the page, so you may not have been notified of the updates. Are you familiar with the concept of page "watching" on a wiki? Please just ask if you have any questions about it or the updates that were made. I know that wiki environments can take a little getting used to, but we are glad that you are choosing to share your research here and are available to help. I am going to take a look at some of the other pages from your file and see if there is any other info that can be easily added to demonstrate some of the ways that it can be done here. I am also "watching" this page, so you can reply here to keep the conversation thread together, and I will be notified of your response. [add comment] [edit] Admin followup [9 January 2017]Hello. I am in the process of reviewing your file Doris.ged, since you have marked it ready for import. I just want to make sure that the file is going to import the way that you want it to. Here is a screenshot of the Overview tab which shows a snapshot of your file: As you can see, most of the Persons and all of the Families included in this file will be excluded from import - that means that they have been marked as excluded during the review process, either by our system or by you. In fact, only one new Person will be imported. It is very unusual to see a file containing 69 Persons and 76 Families in total with a request to only import one of them. This is why I am contacting you. Is this correct? Please leave your response here on your Talk page. Thank you. --cos1776 19:24, 8 January 2017 (UTC)
