I've traced Simon (born 1811) and Jane (Norris) Dotson to app. 1855 in Lawrence Co, AR, and know they were buried in the Norris family graveyard but know no details of their death or when they died. Their children were living with 2 Norris families in the same area when the 1860 US Census was taken. Also, I read a story told by their son, Andrew, of their burial and of the cemetery's location between Smithville and Evening Shade, but have not been able to verify it's existence online.
I believe both the Dotson and Norris families came from Davidson or Robertson County, TN before migrating to Arkansas. Jane's father was Nicholas, and although I haven't researched the information, I was told Nicholas' father was Thomas Norris, who died in 1804 in Robertson County, TN. I have no information about Jane Norris' mother.
Any information on these names or on the cemetery would be greatly appreciated!
