The only family I have pinpointed their origin in Europe, is the Schmitt family. Most of my relatives came to the US in the 1850-1870 time frame. I am a retired school secretary and find genealogy a lot of fun. I began asking my grandparents questions when I was 15 and didn't get much info other than how old their parents were when they died and some physical descriptions. Mostly they could not understand why I was interested in that old stuff. I hope to connect with some cousins who share my interest in finding our familes.
