The legend, as I heard it from Dad, is that one of our Danish ancestors was a yacht builder. This ancestor was commissioned to build a yacht for the tsar of Russia. Upon completing the vessel, this man was rewarded for his good work with a medal from the tsar. This medal is in the possession of some member of the family, according to the story.

Jens Hansen's anchor-shaped pin in this photo seems to point to some maritime connection.
