I live in central Maine in the U.S. but also have my Irish citizenship due to the fact that my grandfather was born in Ireland. I am retired after more than 20 years of teaching. I have been involved with genealogy research for over 20 years but now have more time to give to it. My husband and I have 5 grown children and 7 grandchildren. I am looking for information on my great great grandfather,Thomas Delahunty. He was born, I believe, in or near Tipperary around 1830. I know he married Arabella Butler in Sneem, County Kerry about 1857. He was a member of the RIC(Royal Irish Constabulary) stationed in Sneem. They had a child, Theobald Delahunty in 1858. Thomas died in 1859. I wish to find out more exact information on his birth date,place, and parents. I'd also like to determine the circumstances surrounding his death and where he is buried. His RIC record gives none of this. I want so very much to find answers to these questions since I have come so far, already, in my research. If anyone has any ideas, suggestions,or specific information I would be most grateful. Thank you.
