Defect 1

Deane's History of Scituate, p. 384: "This name has been mistaken for Willis." Despite frequently using Deane as a source, Savage apparently missed this remark and gives the name as Willis, just what Deane warns against. William's death is recorded as Wills, and his probate is filed under Wills. MD, p. 17:102, witnesses a deed in 1651 as William Wills, also executed deed as William Wills in 1654 (p. 8:75), another in 1662 (p. 19:106). --Jrich 05:00, 17 August 2016 (UTC)
